Toxic Heavy Metals and Mental Illness

Through my own healing journey, I’ve learned that toxic heavy metals in the brain play a role in mental illness.  We are taught to think that mental illness is our fault, that it’s genetic, or bad karma, or that we’re flawed in some way.  The truth is, there are real physical causes, and it’s not you!

In Anthony William’s new book, Celery Juice, he explains the true causes of depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.  Here is an excerpt:

How mercury, aluminum, copper, or other heavy metals land and in what quantity will affect how they ignite bouts of depression, bipolar behavior, looming sadness, or unexplained guilt and what those feel like to someone.  From person to person, these emotional states could feel completely different.  In the case of more pronounced bipolar disorder and depression, there are often more toxic heavy metals residing in the brain itself, short-circuiting electrical impulses and neurotransmitters.  General moodiness usually results from an all-around overload of toxins in the body, both a cause and a result of a stagnant, sluggish liver.  Emotional wounds can combine with toxic heavy metals or a viral load inside the liver to create more pronounced irritability, anxiousness, or full-blown anxiety.

This is such a profound shift.  All those years I was trying to figure out what was wrong with me, why other people could live their lives while I was hindered by unseen forces.  To learn the truth and the tools to heal, implement them, and see the changes in my life is such a blessing!  I am not just healing my body, but I am healing the emotional wounds of my past struggles.  I know that the medical industry is largely profit-driven, and that this has contaminated much of the information, which contributed to my suffering and helped to keep me sick.  However, now that I know the truth, I can make peace with it.  I am no longer bound by their playbook.  I am responsible for my own health and I have the information and the tools that I need to heal.  Here are some pointers:

  • Celery Juice – juicing at least 16 oz of fresh, straight celery juice every morning on an empty stomach, as I explain in my recent post “Celery Juice for Mental Illness“, is a foundational tool for healing.  The sodium cluster salts that it contains help restore the nervous system.  It also disarms the toxic charge of heavy metals in the body, as well as removes the fatty deposits that cause the metals to oxidize and “runoff” into nearby tissue.
  • Lowering the fats – too much fat in our diets prevents toxins from leaving the body.  They bog down the liver, which is the body’s filter, so that we cannot process and eliminate toxins, including heavy metals, effectively.  Additionally, fat causes the heavy metals to oxidize more quickly and “runoff” into nearby tissue, increasing the damage that they cause.  It’s very difficult to get the heavy metals out of the body while eating high-fat.  Also, the fat content in pork and pork-products is way too high.  It kills the liver, and therefore no one should be eating pork.
  • Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie – the Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie is the best way to remove toxic heavy metals from the body.  The five food-based ingredients in the smoothie bind onto the metals and draw them all the way out of the body in a slow, gentle way that is not harmful like other harsh cleanses.  I provide the ingredients and discuss how to make the smoothie in my blog post “Got Heavy Metals on the Brain?“.
  • Eliminate Eggs, Dairy, Gluten, Soy, Corn, Canola, and Natural Flavors – eggs are the number one food that feed the pathogens in the body that cause most chronic illness, such as those that contribute to depression and anxiety.  Dairy and gluten feed pathogens as well.  Soy, corn, and canola are GMO-contaminated and also feed pathogens.  “Natural Flavors”, or anything with the words “flavors” or “flavoring”, are not regulated terms in the food industry.  They are in actuality MSG (monosodium glutamate), which is an excito-toxin for the nervous system that creates micro-lesions in the brain.

As someone who was on disability for eight years, and once lived in a group home, I understand how challenging it might be for someone to buy celery for juicing, or the ingredients for the heavy metal detox smoothie.  I still find it challenging today.  If you are a family member of someone with mental illness reading this, please consider supporting them in taking these steps towards their healing.  Or better yet, implement these steps with them.  We all have heavy metals in us to some degree, even if they are not causing problems yet.  If you don’t have ample support that you need, like I didn’t when I was sick, I get it.  Just know that you are not alone.  I address this in my post about “Resource Management“.  Also, reading my book, Healing Schizoaffective, may help you relate to my journey and gain some insights that could help you along the way.  Just do the best you can, little by little, every day.
